Matatalab Successfully Co-organized the First International STEM Summit in China
More than 150 STEM experts from around the world gather together
SHANGHAI, Dec. 10, 2018, Matatalab -- The 2018 Shanghai International STEM Summit Forum & STEM Educational Products Fair, an international gathering of the STEM education industry, has been successfully held at the JW Marriott Hotel and Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing from December 7 to 9 of this year. More than 150 industry experts, STEM educators, CEO from the top 1 educational channels and official of the ministry of education from around the world gather together to discuss the development, evolution, and application of STEM products as well as international trends.
With the theme of "STEM education empower future innovators", the conference, through 26 keynote speeches, 5 workshops and 2 panel discussions, focused on the global multiple STEM education concepts and practices, 21st century learner development, future learning experience design, early childhood development, and technology to promote the balanced development of education and other topics, outlook the future development trend of the global STEM education industry from a multi-dimensional perspective. The international STEM summit forum will be a new starting point for connecting future learning with education technology and integrating international STEM education.
As the keynote speaker of the STEM summit forum, the official at the Ministry of Education in Italy, Marina Grisoni, with her presentation, “FUTURA ITALIA: A STEM JOURNEY AROUND ITALY”, introduced a series of measures taken by the ministry of education in Italy to push the STEM education reform, including the FUTURA project and The National Plan for Digital Education (PNSD) action.
Abdul Chohan, Apple distinguished educator and founder of the Olive Tree school in the UK, was also the keynote speaker, he shared his story behind the creation and promotion of digital technologies in the global education field.
In the field of coding robots for kids ages 4-9, Matatalab, as the international strategy partner of the organizer, has entered into more than 30 pre-school education markets in America and European countries, leading the innovation of international STEM education product.
At the panel discussion, with the topic of “Learn to code & Code to learn: Is coding the new second language?”, Matatalab COO Tony Zheng joined hands with Marina Grisoni, the official of the ministry of education in Italy; Susan Wells, CEO of TechTerra education in the US; Irina Ovsyannikova, senior teacher of computer science of Russia; Lisa Lanzarini, Google certified educator and VP education of Top1 EDU channel of Italy; Liu Zhiwei, Head of Baidu CodingJr Project; YuanShaoqiong, head of TAL Mobi STEM curriculum development center; PengHaiqiong, CEO of RiverEdu; YuZhixiao, editor of Citic Press, to discuss about how governments, schools, families choose STEM and programming education, and how to use programming education to empower future innovators.
STEM education has entered a stage of vigorous development in China. It has made significant progress in education practice, theoretical research and education policy, and has become the backbone force driving the development of STEM education in the world.
